My Coaching Philosophy.

I don’t believe in using ready-made blueprints, formulas, or roadmaps

I believe that a remarkable career isn’t based on someone else’s “tried and true” roadmap or fill-in-the-blank template. You have to create your own roadmap, be open to new possibilities, and continuously assess what you want and why you want it.

What else do I believe?

#1 - I believe understanding your "Signature Blend is the key to career success. Knowing what you want and what makes you unique allows you to seize unexpected opportunities.

#2 - I believe my role is to partner with you as you move from cautious to courageous as you make important career decisions. I want you to leave every session feeling better than when you arrived.

#3 - I believe no matter where you are in your career, I can help you get out of your head, take action, and make informed decisions with confidence.

My Story.

My path to helping professionals began with a desire to change and reimagine my own career

How did I get here?

Two pivotal moments shaped the direction of my career.

One moment occurred when I was in New York City, walking on a crowded sidewalk to a Finance job I hated, and as a taxi passed by, I thought, "If a taxi accidentally hits me right now, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. At least I wouldn't have to go to work today."

That experience set into motion a well-researched plan that ended with me taking bartending classes on the weekend and buying a one-way ticket to the Caribbean the day our annual bonuses hit my bank account.

Before I got on that plane a month later, I gave myself one year to break into a new career. To make life less stressful while I figured things out, I prepaid all of my significant expenses, including housing and buying a car, and worked part-time as a beachside bartender.

My self-imposed sabbatical was easily the most transformative year of my life professionally. For example, a conversation with a customer who also happened to be a health plan executive sparked my interest, and eventual career, in healthcare.

Years later, when I was a strategy director at another health plan, I was promoted to a new and highly visible role at the same time that I found out I was pregnant with my first child. I was excited to take on motherhood and eager to continue my upward career trajectory.

Unfortunately, when I returned from maternity leave, it became clear that the role failed to live up to its promise. I wasn't doing the type of work I loved, I wasn't using my strengths, and even though I exceeded my target, I wasn't making a meaningful impact. I craved autonomy, creativity, and the ability to bring untested ideas to the table.

There was a moment one afternoon, as I was sitting across from my manager, when I experienced that feeling, an inner voice, that said, "If you stay here, you are compromising who you are."

So I listened and took action. I once again researched and laid out the different options in front of me, and then I made a series of intentional steps.

Today, I have crafted a multi-faceted life that spans a wide range of career interests and skills: professional development, coaching, strategy, and storytelling. Turning that inner voice into action has given me the confidence to redefine my career.

And helping you craft your career with an open, proactive, and positive outlook is my signature skill.
